今天我读了一本美国的书，这本书的作者是美国杰出的作家、著名记者、幽默大师马克吐温，而且这本书是他最负盛名的小说，这本书的名字叫《百万英镑》。

《百万英镑》一书中讲述了一对兄弟借给一个没有钱的人一百万英镑。故事就这么发生了，这个没有钱的人开始时被人们瞧不起，走到哪都被人嫌弃。自从有了这张百万英镑，人们开始对他非常热情，而且为了拉拢他，让他免费吃、免费住，更甚至，还有人给他钱。最后，他有了三百万英镑，而且还娶到了一个好老婆，也找到了一个好工作。

看了这本书，我觉得书中的人物以钱当别人的脸，钱多就拼命的拉拢；没钱就瞧不起，连看都不看一眼。而在我们现实生活中，这种现象也是存在的，有些人为了想得到钱而拼命的拉拢别人，想从别人身上得到他全部的金钱，甚至不惜做违法的事情，我觉得，这么做的人一定很坏，其最终结果是一分钱也不会得到，而且还会众叛亲离。

这是一本不错的小说，在看的过程中，让人发笑，可是，看后回顾一下，会发现其中所展现出来的社会环境充满了金钱的欲望。

这几天里我读了一本马克·吐温书这本书的名字叫：《百万英镑》。

这本书要讲得是一个人他到英国当时他是一个乞丐，当时他很饿，看见一个小男孩扔了一个面包，那个人要去捡，突然一个人过来了他不捡了，那个人走了，他继续捡那个面包，当快捡到面包的时候，突然房上有两个富豪叫那个乞丐，说年轻人请上来一下，乞丐上来之后两个富豪给了那个乞丐一封信，乞丐走之后，去一家饭馆，服务员看了一眼就让乞丐就让他做好久没擦的桌子，乞丐说：“为什么让我坐这么脏的桌子，”服务员说：“让你坐着就很不赖了。”乞丐拿起那封信打开当时让所有人惊动了，那信封里竟然是一百万英镑，老板赶快让乞丐坐上最好的位置，乞丐点的菜不用掏钱。乞丐有去了一家服装店，员工把乞丐叫到后台，给乞丐一件又窄又小的衣服，让他敢快走不要妨碍做生意，当乞丐出那一百万英镑是，服装店的老板看到了，马上接待这位乞丐，服装店的老板把郡王的.衣服给了那位乞丐，乞丐说：我用不用给钱老板说：不用给。

从这件事我明白了我们不要看外表，如果我们只看别人的外表，不看别人的内心就像俩个店的老板会被别人歧视，所以我们不要光看外表。
